The first thing to keep in mind is to be comfortable. Obviously, looking cute is a must but do not sacrifice your comfort. If you are feeling uncomfortable in your own skin and clothing then it will detract from your ability to pay attention to your date. Let’s shoot for an outfit that allows you to stay relaxed and make your date the number one priority, rather than adjusting your strapless bra all night, no thanks. If you are able to, pick your clothing out the night before. Not to mention, your chances of having a pile of clothing in the corner of your room decrease, drastically.

Secondly, as mentioned in the previous pointer, paying attention to your date is key. In order to give them your full attention, you need to be able to tune out everything else. The first step in this process, is to put your cellular device away! Your date will instantly think you would rather be somewhere else, if you keep checking it. Along, with paying attention to your date that also includes asking him questions. Don’t expect your date to ask all the questions, it is definitely a two way street. Try to keep the conversation light and happy, presidential candidates could be a real buzz kill.

Speaking of having a buzz, here are a few no no’s when on your first date. Do not drink too much. Know your limits, your audience and just in general what you are trying to accomplish. Hopefully, you would prefer to be asked on a second date but the chances of that happening if your words are slurred, are slim. Let’s keep it classy. Lastly, when the check comes offer to pay. The check dance is much appreciated; do not assume your date will pick up the bill.

Hopefully, with these few first date tips for women, your first date will go well and if that is the case, do not be afraid to send your date a thank you text. But remember, keep it short and sweet!
